We asked the alumni below celebrating a birthday today, April 16, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...

I am at Shanghai now. Everything in China goes smoothly.

Bruce Conner MBA ‘93

I retired a year ago and am living in...Durham, NC! The 16th of April will be my 67th birthday. My sweetheart and I were planning to be traveling right now, but life is what happens while you are making other plans. Hope all of my classmates are keeping well and staying as prosperous as the times permit. Enjoying very long walks with my three dogs these days.

Phillip Crowder MBA ‘94

Today, I live with my wife, Karen, in Greenville, SC. We have 2 children, John (23) and Grace (20), who are currently taking online classes for their respective universities from the safety of our home. It is wild to imagine 25 years have passed since I graduated from the Fuqua School of Business. Being in the plastics and packaging industry my entire career, I managed to find myself focused on Sustainability for the past 7 years. I am the Corporate Director, Sustainability for Winpak Ltd, a multi-national packaging converter based in Canada. In addition to leading and communicating my company's sustainability strategy, I get the privilege of working alongside some of the leading food and consumer goods companies in the world, enabling them to achieve their own sustainability goals. Coming out of Fuqua I would not have imagined this career path for me. However, I learned adaptability and spotting new trends through coursework and interactions at Fuqua. Then, as opportunities presented themselves to forge this career direction, I saw potential to integrate my business learning, technical education, and desire to improve my social impact as coming together. I also want to take this opportunity to thank healthcare workers and the multitudes of other people working selflessly to combat COVID-19. Please stay safe.

I am currently home in Madrid under a strict lockdown, as is pretty much everyone else around the globe. I keep myself optimistic and busy by following a daily schedule which includes work, exercising, reading, and FaceTiming friends in different countries. Let us hope this is over soon!
