Before coming to Duke, I was based in Chicago, IL, and spent about 4 years in Corporate Banking/Financial Services. Outside of work, I have been engaged in non-profit work with a couple of different organizations. I'm happy to share my experience and reasons for choosing Team Fuqua!

Bio

I am excited to be a part of #TeamFuqua after spending my career helping to scale a high-growth FinTech company. I joined the team early, just after a Series A fundraise, and most recently served as Director of Business Operations, leading cross-functional initiatives for revenue-generating teams. I am now recruiting for consulting and strategy roles, where I plan to leverage my expertise in process development, forecasting, and data strategy.

I’m also deeply passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Since 2021, I’ve been on the board of the Forr the City Foundation, a Raleigh-based nonprofit supporting underrepresented youth.

I live in Durham with my husband and our toy poodle, Raleigh. In my spare time, I enjoy watching documentaries and reality TV, traveling, attending live music events, and cooking.

MQM: Business Analytics

Class of 2025
Citizenship: United States
Region: Hawaii
Career Interest: I have experience in the Financial Services industry as a financial advisor. While I enjoyed aspects of this work, I realized I want my role to lean more heavily into data-informed strategy. I feel the role of a investment analyst and using market data to identify investment opportunities, inform investment strategy, and ultimately drive business recommendations, better mirrors my mathematics major as an undergraduate. However, I lacked a foundation in programming I recognized I needed a more rigorous understanding of data analysis which I could then fuse with my knowledge of financial concepts. That theory-application gap is what sets an analyst apart. Both the Finance Track and MQM core coursework (Applied Probability and Statistics, Data Infrastructures, and Derivatives to name a few) build the skills that so many job descriptions highlight.
