I have experience in the Financial Services industry as a financial advisor. While I enjoyed aspects of this work, I realized I want my role to lean more heavily into data-informed strategy. I feel the role of a investment analyst and using market data to identify investment opportunities, inform investment strategy, and ultimately drive business recommendations, better mirrors my mathematics major as an undergraduate. However, I lacked a foundation in programming I recognized I needed a more rigorous understanding of data analysis which I could then fuse with my knowledge of financial concepts. That theory-application gap is what sets an analyst apart. Both the Finance Track and MQM core coursework (Applied Probability and Statistics, Data Infrastructures, and Derivatives to name a few) build the skills that so many job descriptions highlight.

While I live in Seattle now, I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. I love going home whenever I can to visit my family, friends, and our many pets (including dogs, cats, goats, and sheep). I'm an avid runner and enjoy getting outside.
