We’re here for you—whenever you’re ready

Your MBA journey is personal and so is finding the right fit. Whether you’re just beginning to explore what’s possible, considering applying, or already moving through the admissions process, our team is here to help you determine if your story and motivations align with Fuqua—and vice versa.

Here are a few ways to connect along the way:

  • Weekly Virtual Office Hours
Drop in with a quick question, listen in on others' perspectives, or meet fellow prospective students. These casual, informal sessions are a great way to get timely answers, gather insights, and get a feel for the Executive MBA experience.
  • One-on-One Conversations
When you’re ready for a more personal discussion, schedule a call with an admissions counselor. We’ll talk about your goals, your unique circumstances, and how Fuqua’s culture, curriculum, and network could support your aspirations.
  • Experience Fuqua in Person
Nothing beats seeing it for yourself. Our monthly Saturday Open Houses let you sit in on an Executive MBA class, connect over lunch with current students, and experience the energy and collaboration of Team Fuqua firsthand.

You’ll find our admissions team highly responsive and ready to connect you with information, resources, and people who can help guide your decision—so you can feel confident you’ve found the right place to take your next step.

Selection Criteria

A good match is important from both sides—yours and ours—so we take a holistic approach to considering each candidate. Each of the components of your application gives you the chance to demonstrate your strengths and your fit with Fuqua. You’ll be considered a strong applicant if:

  • We’re confident you will be successful in our program
  • You’ll add value to your peers and to Fuqua throughout your professional, personal, and academic experiences.
  • You believe diversity in thought and background are important within your professional life and community.
  • You demonstrate competence, character, and purpose and have the strongest potential to be a leader who is a positive force for change.

We look at all your work experience—how it will contribute to our learning environment and how it has helped you develop leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Applicants must have at least five years of post-graduate full-time work experience, including experience acquired during medical residency, postdoctoral research, or military service, to qualify for the program. Exceptions to this requirement extend to individuals with nontraditional educational paths, such as obtaining a bachelor's degree after military service or at a later stage in life.
  • You are not required to be currently employed.
  • In your application, detail how your post-graduate work experience, including any unconventional roles, will contribute to Fuqua’s learning environment.

Fuqua values diversity and unique points of view, so we admit applicants with:

  • Various undergraduate degrees and professional backgrounds
  • A wide range of GPAs and academic and professional experiences

Because the Weekend Executive MBA academic environment is demanding and fast-paced, the admissions committee looks closely at indicators of your readiness for rigorous quantitative and analytical work. This can include your performance in quantitative and business coursework, the context and rigor of your academic preparation, and your professional experience, including the types of analytical or data-driven work you have been exposed to.

Standardized exams are not required. If you choose to submit a test score, we will consider it as one additional data point alongside the rest of your application, but it is neither required nor expected.

Your application essays, recommendation, and interview are what weave fit, passion, and impact together into your "story." No one part is more important than the other, so give each one your best. And most importantly, just be you.

Resume:

You must include a current business resume. Start with your current position, and include any relevant volunteer work. Please make sure the experience and education sections list dates (month/year).

Essays:

Your essays allow us to get to know you as a person and help us understand what drives you and inspires you. You may use the essays to fill in any gaps, or provide extra details on key areas of your application.

Recommendations:

One letter of recommendation is required for the application and should be from someone who knows your professional skills and abilities. Prepare your recommender to showcase parts of you that are not reflected in other areas of your application.

Proprietors or principals of a company can ask a client, board member, or other professional colleague to write a recommendation.

Interview:

An interview is required to complete your application. During your interview, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Show us your interpersonal skills and what you’ll bring to the program
  • Give us additional insight into who you are and your background
  • Demonstrate how you are a good fit for Fuqua, and how Fuqua is a good fit for you
