"For me, community extends beyond the classroom—it encompasses how we engage with and support individuals across every part of Fuqua. I’ve been intentional about leading with that mindset, whether by supporting classmates, mentoring others, or taking the time to connect with those who work behind the scenes."

Why I Chose Fuqua
As a Duke undergraduate and former staff member, Fuqua wasn’t just a top business school—it was home. I spent years building community, leading equity-focused initiatives, and growing personally and professionally at Duke. When it came time to pursue my MBA, there was no other choice. I knew Fuqua would challenge me academically while nurturing the values I hold most dear: community, purpose, and impact. This place helped shape who I am, and returning was about deepening that connection and preparing to give back on an even greater scale.
Before Fuqua
Before Fuqua, I worked at Duke University, where I led healthy relationship education programs aimed at fostering a safer, more respectful campus environment. My goal was to help students develop the skills to form healthy connections and, ultimately, reduce instances of sexual assault. I collaborated closely with student leaders and campus partners to ensure our efforts were inclusive, practical, and far-reaching.
After Fuqua
To be honest, I’m still figuring it out—but I know I want to do work that matters. Whether in strategy, operations, or something I’ve yet to discover, I’m drawn to roles where I can solve problems, lead with purpose, and create meaningful impact. Fuqua has given me the tools to think critically, collaborate across teams, and navigate ambiguity—skills I’ll carry with me wherever I land.

What Makes Durham a Great Place to Call Home
-
Growth Without Losing Character
I’ve lived in Durham for eight years, and what I love most is how the city continues to grow while staying true to the culture and quirkiness that make it special. It’s a place that embraces change while staying true to itself—and that’s rare. -
Rooted in Community
Durham has a strong sense of identity—grounded in community, creativity, and history—that you can feel everywhere, from local businesses to neighborhood events.
