“While researching analytics programs, I found most to be too technically focused or too redundant for my career having already earned an MBA. However, when I ran across the Accelerated Business Analytics degree, the stars aligned. I knew I had found a good fit in the form of a balanced program at a top-tier business school which provided a cohort approach while maintaining a flexible schedule for working professionals. Additionally, the relatively short duration of the program and its location in the Southeast were great selling points."

Reflections
I didn’t expect to begin using concepts from the program so quickly with my current employer. However, a few opportunities arose, allowing me to apply a more analytical approach to our decision-making.
I think of data differently now. As a real estate appraiser, I have been trained to understand the value of good data to make work products more accurate and easier to produce. However, as I work through the program, I think of data as more than just a resource for the assignment in front of you. If aggregated and developed, it can be used repeatedly to solve problems and bring new insights to our business.
Before Fuqua
I am a director with Altus Group, a real estate valuation and advisory company. We partner with our clients to manage their quarterly valuation process for their commercial real estate investment portfolios. I manage our Atlanta team.
After Fuqua
Fortunately, I work in a data-rich environment, and I plan to continue to develop tools to help my colleagues and leadership team gain insights into both our client-facing work products and internal operations.
Advice to Prospective Students
"The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry."
- Robert Burns
Working through the program takes time and dedication, so create a plan and set a schedule, but build in some wiggle room in case something comes up in your professional or private life. If you’re one of the lucky few who never have issues, you’ll have some free time at the end of the day. For the rest of us, we’ll be tapping into those reserves.
