Marisella Adams-Grimaldi

“My leadership skills being the MMS Fellows President have grown so much in ways that I never thought they could. I have learned to conduct myself in many new settings, and how to properly communicate with my peers and superiors. The individuals I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had, along with the mentorship I’ve received, have had the greatest impact on this journey. “

Why I Chose Fuqua
Originally, I planned to attend Fuqua to grow as a business professional before attending Physician Assistant school. Since being a student here I have learned so much about myself and the opportunities out there, and have shifted my focus. This experience has taken a positive unexpected turn for me. I always saw myself in the medical field, but this experience has shown me that I can still have the same impact on bettering individuals' lives, but from a CEO position.
Before Fuqua
During my internship at Duke Hospital working with many doctors of different fields, I became very interested in how the system worked as a whole, and what skills I would need to lead a team of my own.
After Fuqua
I plan to be an entrepreneur and start my own business. I will create an environment in my company that shapes the lives of its employees.

Many Hometowns, One Team
Every member of my team is from a different country: China, Spain, India, Pakistan, and United States! This has influenced my experience because I have learned so much more about new cultures than I have in the past. I have been able to experience so many new holidays celebrating my friends.
