A world of opportunity

Difference drives us. An appreciation of diverse cultures and practices makes for stronger and more effective leadership, so Fuqua offers a range of programs and initiatives that globalize your MBA experience.

Through our exchange programs with top business schools around the world, opportunities to learn from and network with leaders from different countries, and a range of student organizations focused on issues in key political economies, the world is open for you.

Extend Your Global Reach

Fuqua facilitates a range of global experiences for students, including acclimating non-U.S. students to life in the Daytime MBA program. While exchange programs and language courses can diversify your academic experience, you will learn as much through your classmates in MBA Association organizations as you do in the curriculum.

Study abroad takes many shapes. You can study abroad for a whole semester, or do a short-course program during summer, spring, or winter break.

Outgoing Exchange

Our Outgoing Exchange Program (OEP) is available to eligible students beginning the summer after their first year at Fuqua; exchange programs contribute to the elective credits you’ll need to complete your MBA. Twice a year our International Programs team showcases exchange opportunities in information fairs for current students. You’ll get an overview of our partner institutions—and chat with current students representing those partner institutions. We also offer info sessions and open advising for each exchange application cycle to answer students' questions and guide you through the process.

Incoming Exchange

Each year, Fuqua welcomes approx. 100 exchange students from our partner schools around the world to participate in our Incoming Exchange Program. If you’re interested in attending Fuqua on exchange, your home institution must be part of our partner network. Check with your home institution’s exchange coordinator for more information.

As the basis for our exchange programs, Fuqua is a proud member of the Partnership in International Management (PIM), a consortium of leading international business schools founded in 1973.

MBA students interested in developing their language skills have access to credit and non-credit courses at different institutions. Because of varying schedules between the Daytime MBA curriculum and outside institutions, our International Programs team provides guidance to individuals about these opportunities to assess which will be the best fit for your goals.

Courses for Credit

Fuqua students can take up to four approved language courses for credit—two of which can be undergraduate-level courses—at Duke University, North Carolina State University, or the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Not-for-Credit Courses

Not-for-credit language courses are offered through Duke Continuing Studies. These classes meet in the evenings for 8-10 weeks and cost less than 200 USD.

The MBA Association's international clubs are focused on providing support to prospective and current students interested in specific regions as well as engaging with companies and other institutions from those regions as they interact with Fuqua. They provide networking opportunities as well as cultural events like a Diwali celebration sponsored by INDUS, an evening of wine and cheese pairings sponsored by the European Club, or Trivia Night from the Asia Business Club where teams chosen to represent a diversity of nationalities compete for prizes in different categories.  Learn more in Clubs + Activities.
