Bio
Robert Swinney is a Professor in the Operations Management area of the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. His research focuses on strategic problems in operations management, including the impact of customer behavior on operational decisions, social and environmental responsibility, supply chain disruption risk, and platform operations. His work has been published in journals such as Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Marketing Science, and he holds or has held associate and senior editor positions at Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production & Operations Management. At Fuqua, he is the coordinator of the operations management area and teaches the MBA core course on technology and business as well as an elective course on operations strategy. Prior to joining Fuqua, he received a BS in Astronomy from the California Institute of Technology, a PhD in Operations Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and was an associate professor at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
