Bio
Anna Cieslak is an Associate Professor of Finance at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, working at the intersection of asset pricing, macro, and monetary economics. Her research agenda spans the dynamics of interest rates and the interactions between central banks and financial markets. She has recently focused on central bank communication, particularly understanding the channels through which the Federal Reserve impacts financial markets.
Anna is a frequent seminar speaker at central banks and policy institutions. Her research has been published in top finance journals and featured in leading popular media outlets. She is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. She currently serves as an Associate Editor at the Journal of Finance and the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, and was previously an Associate Editor at the Review of Financial Studies, the Review of Finance, and the Journal of Financial Econometrics.
Before joining Duke, she served on the finance faculty at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Anna holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Lugano in Switzerland and a Master's degree from the Warsaw School of Economics in Poland.
