A Strong Start to Campus Recruiting:
Fuqua’s MBA Networking Reception and Employer Expo
More than 300 MBAs and 17 recruiting organizations participated in Fuqua’s September 12th MBA Networking Reception. Survey results show students found the event to be an excellent kickoff to recruiting, offered valuable networking opportunities, and showcased diverse recruiting partners and hiring needs.
Subsequently, on October 2nd, the CMC hosted the MBA Employer Expo, attracting over 300 students and 20 employers. The event featured 30-minute presentations, concurrent office hours, and concluded with a networking session. Employers found this format to be highly effective for promoting their opportunities and engaging directly with top-tier candidates.

MBAs on the Move: Week-in-Cities Video
During fall break, our MBA students participated in a variety of industry treks across 13 cities, immersing themselves in diverse business environments.
These visits provided students with valuable insight as they offered a firsthand look into the employers’ workplaces, values, culture, and operations. Students enjoyed engaging directly with professionals and alumni in their fields of interest and cultivating meaningful relationships.
We are grateful to our valued recruiting partners who hosted our students! If your organization is interested in more information on future week-in-cities trips, contact your industry Account Manager.

GMAT Score Evolution:
A New Approach Beyond Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning
An important update for recruiters using GMAT scores in candidate evaluations: the GMAT Exam (Focus Edition) Total Score is now based on three sections - Quantitative, Verbal, and Data Insights – rather than just Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning scores. The content areas and test constructs have been refined to narrow the scope to focus on data literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The score scale was adjusted to reflect changes in the test-taking population, which has become more diverse and global. Over the years, scores have shifted significantly, resulting in an uneven distribution, and the updated score scale fixes that, allowing schools to better differentiate candidate performance on the exam.

Navigating the Process: Interviews
Interviews conducted on-campus allow employers and candidates to establish an authentic and personal connection, evaluating technical proficiency and cultural alignment within your organization. Virtual interviews allow enhanced accessibility, efficiency, and scheduling flexibility, and may optimize your team’s time and resources.
Whether opting for on-campus, off-campus, or virtual interviews, your industry Account Manager will help facilitate the process seamlessly. A few things to keep in mind as you plan for interviews:
#1. Open Communication
- It is important that both the employer and student communicate openly throughout the interview, offer, and evaluation processes. Employers should maintain a communication window of no more than four weeks throughout the process. This will reduce candidate questions and extra outreach, streamlining the process for both students and employers.
- All candidates not selected for further consideration should receive notification of their final status once the selection process has concluded.
#2. Select Alternate Candidates
- It is strongly recommended to select and rank alternate candidates for interviews. This approach enables employers to engage a larger candidate pool, retain access to high-quality talent should an interview slot unexpectedly open, and maximize the time invested by the interview team.
#3. Share Interview Day Details with Your Account Manager
- Be sure to provide second-round interviews or sell event dates to your industry Account Manager. This information can be highlighted as an "FYI" in CareerBridge to help with student planning.
- If your team has any needs for your interview day, including on-campus room requirements, inform your Account Manager so space can be allocated accordingly.
#4. Fuqua’s Pre-Term Campus Interviews & Spring 2025 Interview Rounds
- Requests must be submitted by December 3, 2024, for on-campus interviews held January 6-15, 2025.
- To keep your interview process on track, click here to review the employer deadline for candidate selection and final schedule availability. Missing this deadline will delay the interview process and may result in a change to your interview date.
#5. Plan for Travel Issues and Schedule Flexibility
- When planning for interviews it’s always helpful to consider potential travel disruptions, delays, or last-minute schedule changes. Have a backup plan in place, such as the option to switch to virtual interviews if needed. Communicate with your Account Manager ahead of time about the possibility of these adjustments, and ensure all parties have the necessary technology and support for virtual alternatives if required.
Program Spotlight:
Master of Science in Quantitative Management (MQM): Business Analytics
Fuqua offers an intensive 10-month degree that provides a foundation in data analytics, with a focus on specific issues in one of four industry domains (Finance, Marketing, Information Risk Management, or Strategy). Designed for students with 0-3 years’ post-college experience, MQM is a STEM-designated degree giving international students meeting certain requirements the opportunity to work in the United States for three years without sponsorship.
